The King of The Bays on Saturday, 14 April 2018 is an iconic Auckland ocean swim on the North Shore.

Due to frequent "red readings" for water quality at Milford and Takapuna beaches, this year's event has been relocated so it now goes down the coast to Devonport.

The 2.8km "I'm Going Long" swim will now be a slightly shorter 2.5km, starting from Cheltenham Beach, going around North Head and finishing at Windsor Reserve. To work in this new location they have combined the 1000m and 500m events to form the "Torpedo" 750m swim, which will start from Torpedo Bay and finish at Windsor Reserve. The Banana Boat OceanKids 200m event will start and finish from the beach at Windsor Reserve.
