Run/Walk Road/Path/Park Superlong Marathon Relay

Hosted by the North Canterbury Athletics Club, the Greta Valley Marathon relay on Saturday, 22 September 2018 is an annual scenic relay run over six laps of varying distances.

All runners are welcome: club, social and corporate teams. The relay leg distances are: 4.6km, 7.9km, 7.5km, 8.2km, 8.0km, 6.0km.

The course follows the sealed road into Motunau Beach for approximately 15km then turns into the Happy Valley Road which becomes unsealed after a further 2km then continues along the Happy Valley Road for another 13-14km before meeting up with Glendhu Road. The course then continues along Glendhu Road before meeting with the Motunau Beach Road again and covers the reverse of the first lap then continuing back into Greta Valley village to finish outside the Cafe & Bar car park.

This event is in Greta Valley, approximately 60 minutes drive north from Christchurch, with the start and finish at the Greta Valley Tavern car park.
