Breca Swimrun in New Zealand's Bay of Islands is a world-class swim-run race: test your strength in open water and on the trails!
Swimrun is raced in pairs & entry is for teams of two only. Your entry fee includes: swim cap; finishers' hat; finishers' medals; race timing; race nutrition and hydration; free event photography; and a Kiwi-style BBQ at the finish at Otehei Bay.
For the first time in 2019, there are two distances: Breca Bay of Islands covering 37.3km in total; and Breca Bay of Islands Sprint, covering 17.2km. Terrain includes sections of technical, off-trail running; rock-hopping; island crossings; steps; steep slopes; and the swimming includes technical transitions, ocean swims, and a high likelihood of swell.
Saturday - Sprint:
13km running + 4.2km swimming, 16 transitions
Sunday - Original Course:
27.4km running + 9.9km swimming, 24 transitions
