Rock climbing and map sport collide in Bouldergaine at Castle Hill in Canterbury on Saturday, 5 March 2016.
Bouldering is a type of rock climbing on boulders to a safe height without the need for ropes and harnesses. Rogaining is an endurance form of orienteering involving locating checkpoints in cross-country terrain. Combine the two and you have one extreme new pursuit. Castle Hill is one of the most spectacular boulder fields in the world, the ideal location!
Participants will work in teams of two to locate checkpoints all around the Castle Hill area, and score points with an electronic tag at each one they reach. At each checkpoint there are also bonus point clickers that can be reached by climbing, scrambling or jumping.
