The Bombay Pioneer Settlers Fun Run on Sunday, 18 March 2018 is an annual half marathon and associated fun runs in Bombay, Auckland.
This event is run by the Bombay Lions Club to celebrate the arrival of the ship "Bombay" from England. The "Bombay" was towed into Auckland by the warship "Curacoa" having lost a large portion of her masts and rigging in a terrible storm off the coast of New Zealand. She arrived on 18th March 1865 carrying 400 assisted immigrants destined for the area now called Bombay where they were to settle on their promised 10 acre allotments.
The 10kk and half marathon course is along the path they would have travelled.
The 5km takes in part of the road, but trails around a picturesque rural road taking in another area of Bombay.
