Cancer Society Relay for Life in New Plymouth
Relay For Life in New Plymouth is a fun 12 hour fundraising event for the Cancer Society that brings communities together to celebrate and remember the lives of those who have been affected by cancer.
The New Plymouth event takes on a new format in 2017, with a 12 hour format starting with an opening ceremony at 10.15am, the relay starting at 10.30am with a survivors & carers lap, and then the closing cermony at 10.30pm.
Relay For Life begins with a moving Opening Ceremony, with cancer survivors and carers leading the first lap of the event. Next, team members take to the track. Later in the evening, a Candlelight Ceremony is held to remember love ones affected by cancer. Team members continue to walk or jog until the teams come together for an inspiring Closing Ceremony.
