Weekly Newsletter November 4th 2010

This is a copy of the weekly newsletter from the New Zealand Running sent by email on November 4th 2010 covering events coming up over the next two weekends, regular weekday events, and competitions.

Newsletter changes

I've made made some layout changes in this week's newsletter and reduced the amount of information provided with each event, which should make the information much easier to read.

Website changes

In the next few days I'll be moving the search function from the left side of the website to run across the top. This will allow for much more room for the calendar list and less will be chopped off in the short summaries, and will in general make better use of your web browser's width.

What's coming up over the next couple of weekends?

Saturday November 6th 2010

• The Feilding Marathon and two person relay. Enter up until 30 minutes before the event. A late entry fee applies from October 31st.
  
  
• The Maungaturoto Primary School Round The Block Run/Walk. I don't have any information for this event other than the very basic PDF document linked to.
  
  
• Run for Relief in Upper Hutt to raise money and awareness for Burma's ethnic citizens. There are 5K and 10K options.
  
  
• The Speights West Coaster at Bethell's Beach. Marathon, Team Marathon, 28K, 18K and 10K options.
  
  
• The Frontrunner Series in Queenstown. The final event in this series with Half Marathon, 10K and 5K options. Enter now or on the day.

Sunday November 7th 2010

• Eastwoodhill's Centennial Fun Run/Walk near Gisborne with 7K and 14K off-road options. Your entry must have already been received.
  
  
• The Napier Half Marathon also with 5K and 10K options. Late entry fees already apply and you can still enter online and on the day.
  
  
• The Trust House Summer Series 2010/11 at the Belvedere Hall, Carterton with Midget Grade 2K, Junior Grade 4K and Senior Grade 7K events.

Friday November 12th 2010

• Taranaki Around the Mountain 160K solo or 150K team event on November 12th/13th. Late entry fees already apply.

Saturday November 13th 2010

• The Rimutaka Railway Fun Run and Walk is a 17K off road run. Enter now or on the day with higher fees applying from the 6th and 11th.
  
  
• The Greatest Little Fun Run in the Waitakere Bush with 2K, 5K and 10K options. Late entry fees apply after November 11th.
  
  
• The Maratoto Challenge near Paeroa with Half Marathon, 10K, 5K and mountain bike options. The half can be done as a team or individual.

Sunday November 14th 2010

• Bream Bay 5K and 10K at Ruakaka. Entries close on November 8th but you can make a late entry on November 13th/14th.
  
  
• Brookfield Bog Challenge in Wainuiomata with 4K, 8K or 12K runs in the mud! Entries close on November 7th but you can also enter on the day.
  
  
• Glenbervie School Fun Run near Whangarei with 2K, 5K and 10K forest run options. Enter beforehand or on the day.
  
  
• Hunterville Hill Half Marathon (inbetween Marton and Taihape). Run or walk as a team or individual.
  
  
• Thames "Save the Children" Fun Run with 5K, 10K and Half Marathon options.
  
  
• The Toi Challenge in Whakatane which is an 18K off road run.

All events listed below are weekly unless otherwise noted in bold italics.

Mondays

• The Monday Nighta in Orewa 5K/10K at 6:15pm until March 28th
• Pakuranga 5K at 6:10pm until April 25th with a Christmas/January break
• Northcote 5K at 6:15pm until March 29th with a Christmas break

Tuesdays

• O'Hagan's 5K Series at 6:00pm
• Waterfront 5K in Wellington at 5:30pm until April
• AdiRun Newmarket at 6:00pm with 5K, 7K and 10K options
• State Beach Series 2.5K/5K at 6:15pm until March 22nd with a Christmas break
• Bluewater 2K/5K in Napier at 6:00pm until November 30th
• Eastside 2K/5K in Hamilton at 6:05pm until March 29th

Wednesdays

• The Rat Race 5K in Milford, Auckland at 6:00pm
• Waitakere 5K at 6:15pm
• Waimea 5K in Richmond from 6:00pm until March 30th

Thursdays

• YMCA Auckland Domain 10K from 5:30pm until March 31st with a Christmas break
• Devonport Sun Run at 6:00pm until December 16th
• Trout Fly 3K/5.4K in Rotorua at 6:15pm until March 10th with a Christmas break (fortnightly)

Run Auckland 2011 Competition

The Run Auckland 2011 Series competition is now over and these were the winners:

Upcoming Competitions

• win one of two entries into event 2 of the Albany Lakes Summer Series (December 13th to 26th with the winners drawn on December 27th

Run Auckland 2011

Enter Run Auckland before midnight on Sunday November 7th for just $99 to get a limited edition T-Shirt valued at $70. There is an entry limit for 2011 for 2000 participants per race so get in quick to make sure you don't miss out. Enter now.

Run Kids will be run on the same dates in 2011 as the Run Auckland events, later in the morning. I'll update the calendar shortly with the Run Kids information.
