The Twizel Pyramid Run is a 19km off-road run or walk as part of the Twizel Hard Labour Weekend. There is also the 5km Mini Pyramid Run designed for younger kids and follows some of the main Pyramid Run course.
The well marked course allows competitors of all ages and abilities to enjoy the unique tussock flats, matagouri fringed trails and mountain streams of the Mackenzie Country. The other events in the Twizel Hard Labour Weekend are the Canal Caper Road Cycle Race and Dusky Trail Mountain Bike Race. For more information about these see the official website, linked to below.
The location map below shows the location of the start/finish line for all events at Ben Ohau Station. To get there from SH8 turn west 200 metres south of the bridge over the Twizel River, and follow Glen Lyon Road for 6 km (do not go down the unsealed Old Glen Lyon Road). Ben Ohau Station is on the left, the start/finish is 500m beyond the homestead and over the Fraser River on your right. It is visible from the road.
