The Maratoto Challenge

Maratoto Challenge

The annual Maratoto Challenge features 5km, 10km and Half Marathon events. You can run or mountain bike any of the options as an individual, or the Half Marathon as a 4 person relay team.

The early morning start leads you up the winding sealed track, moving onto gravel and up into the Maratoto valley, the course traversing this beautifully bushed valley has given those new intrepid explorers of the backcountry four great years of boundary pushing activity.

A reasonable level of fitness is expected of all attending athletes; Final decision on race day is subject to race safety officer approval. Safety comes before competition and all competitors are expected to assist each other if the need arises.
