The Coastal Classic 12km Craypot Run, 12km Moturata Views Walk and 21km Akatore Challenge is an annual event, using gravel roads, farm paddocks, coastal tracks, beaches and wetlands.
Either run for those serious, or walk and take time to take photos of breathtaking scenery while exploring rarely seen coastal views. Stop at the Seascape Cafe for complementary coffee/tea with muffin situated at the 8km point and admire the views north and south of the Otago coastline. This is a once a year opportunity to access privately owned farmland.
These events are at Livingstonia Park, Taieri Mouth south of Dunedin which is shown approximately in the map below.
